Am I eligible?
The voucher is available to homeowners in the West of England region.
- Eligible Areas: Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
- Exclusions: Please note that North Somerset is not eligible for this funding.
What assessments does the voucher cover?
You can claim and redeem up to two vouchers per household, for two different assessment types. We offer three specialist services:
1. Air Tightness Testing
Stop paying to heat the outside. We measure exactly how draughty your home is, pinpoint where cold air is entering, and provide actionable advice to improve airtightness and retain warmth.
Standard Price: £250; With Voucher (until 31 Aug): £50; With Voucher (from 1 Sept): £125
2. Advanced Air Tightness Test (with Ventilation Survey)
Best for homes with damp or mould issues. Includes everything in the standard test plus a whole-house ventilation survey – essential for preventing condensation and mould, and highly recommended if you’re planning significant insulation upgrades.
Standard Price: £350; With Voucher (until 31 Aug): £70; With Voucher (from 1 Sept): £175
3. Thermal Imaging Survey
See what the naked eye misses. Using infrared technology, we detect temperature variations in walls, roofs and windows, identifying missing insulation or thermal bridges so you know exactly where to focus your budget. (Availability: Autumn/Winter only – requires a temperature difference.)
Standard Price: £500; With Voucher (until 31 Aug): £70; With Voucher (from 1 Sept): £175

Real Results: A Prioritised Roadmap for a Chronically Cold Bristol Home

How does it work?
- Apply for your Voucher – visit Retrofit West and select Building Energy Experts as your provider.
- Book Your Survey – once you receive your voucher code by email, complete our enquiry form to schedule your assessment. Vouchers are valid for six weeks from the date of issue – expired vouchers can’t be redeemed, and a new application is needed to get another.
- Redeem & Save – we’ll validate your voucher and invoice you for the remaining balance only.
- Get Your Report – our qualified assessor visits your property and produces a detailed report to guide your home improvements.
The scheme is currently funded until 31 December 2026, though Retrofit West may close applications earlier if funding is exhausted ahead of that date.
